I don’t know why but for a 4 year period starting that autumn, I paid attention to radio and music videos more intently than I ever had. I still maintain that it was a ripple effect from MTV. Even on our 4 and half channels we had Friday Night Videos<\/em>.\u00a0 Perhaps it was just a coincidence. I had relocated back to Indiana. I really didn’t know anybody here anymore.\u00a0 All that music I acquired while in Vermont more or less sat idle.\u00a0 In much the way that Disco<\/em> disappeared, this new 80’s Sound<\/em> appeared.<\/p>\n

I had identified a few local radio stations and let it happen.\u00a0 That makes this section somewhat different. A very large portion of the music from College Intermission<\/em> was stuff that I did not own until decades later.\u00a0 I was still buying albums at this time. In fact one of the first things I did was sign up at Columbia House again. I used a good portion of my inital free<\/em> albums to replace some of my favorite cassettes.\u00a0 So this era will have its album elements but wil also be peppered with songs of the time.\u00a0 I do this because even though I didn’t purchase them then, I feel that they still contributed to My Musical Evolution.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/em>Pat Benatar – Love Is A Battlefield<\/em>\u00a0 as you know I loved Pat Benatar in the Academy Days <\/em>I even got her Get Nervous<\/em> album at the end. I realize that I forgot to mention it. I didn’t really listen to it. Here she was again and this song was all over the radio but by then I felt that I had moved on so\u00a0I didn’t pursue it. Enjoyed it, but didn’t buy it, yet.
