I knew that they were more than that. I had even heard <em>Confortably Numb <\/em>at Chip&#8217;s house way back in the <em>Academy Days<\/em>. In August if 1984, my concept of <em>Pink Floyd\u00a0<\/em> would be expanded and \u00a0<em>The Wall<\/em> would be the instrument of that expansion.<\/p>\n<p>Back then, there was a 2 screen movie theater next to Glenbrook Mall. It was called Glenbrook Cinema but it wasn&#8217;t attached to the mall proper. It just occupied a piece of the parking lot where a Super Target now stands. The great thing about this little theater was their willingness to run <em>Midnight Movies. <\/em>They did this frequently and whether or not they were trying to capitlaize on MTV, the midnight movies often were of a musical nature. Films like <em>Led Zeppelin&#8217;s Song Remains The Same<\/em>,\u00a0<em> Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em>, some\u00a0 movie about an assault on a radio station that was really just a bunch of music videos strung together, and of course <em>Pink Floyd&#8217;s The Wall.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em>Was it fate or destiny that I should see <em>The Wall<\/em> at this particular point in my life? Maybe it was just bad timing. I didn&#8217;t know it at the time but <em>The Wall<\/em> would be a central fixture in <em>My Musical Evolution<\/em> for several weeks. On that night, it was just a great audio visual experience.\u00a0 The next day, I bought the album and devoured it not knowing that a couple weeks later <em>it<\/em> would consume <em>me<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Pink Floyd &#8211; The Wall<\/em><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PQE3vcwU97g?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Up until the summer of 1984, Pink Floyd was synonymous with Dark Side Of The Moon for me.
