As a veterinarian, Doc has been a dog guy for a long time. They would join us up at Strawberry Lake and provide entertainment and love that only dogs can give. I still have Spot hair stuck to Gore-Tex

Doc’s dalmatian Spot has been a fixture up at Strawberry Lake as long as I’ve been going up there. He was deaf. I would joke that it was because he sat too close to the fire engine siren. Doc did a great job of training him to respond to hand signals.

There are lots of stories about Spot. He once swam out to the middle of the lake where Doc and I were fishing. My Gore-Tex is still covered in his hair. He used to smile when we’d arrive at Strawberry. Maybe Scott has a picture of him smiling.

Even though he was still a puppy in his mind, his body had gotten old. He was struggling with bad joints and his vision was going. On January 5th, 2011, Doc had to make a tough call and end his suffering.

He was a good boy and will be sorely missed at Strawberry.
